Academic Program
McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program – The School District of Osceola County, Florida – Families in Transition (FIT)
AchievePoint Virtual Academy serves students who may experience housing instability and are eligible for protections and services under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Eligible students are provided support designed to remove barriers to enrollment, participation, and academic success.
Services may include:
- Assistance with enrollment and immediate access to educational services
- Support with obtaining required school records and documentation
- Assistance with transportation, when applicable
- Access to school supplies, instructional materials, and other educational resources
- Academic support and referrals to appropriate school or community services
- Assistance connecting students and families with available community resources
- Support from the school’s designated McKinney-Vento liaison to ensure eligible students receive their rights and protections
Other Applicable Student Programs
As a virtual public school, AchievePoint Virtual Academy provides eligible students access to applicable state and federal programs and supports based on individual student needs and eligibility. These may include:
- Exceptional Student Education (ESE) / Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) services
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services
- Section 504 accommodations
- Title I services, when applicable
- Migrant Education Program services, when applicable
- School counseling and student support services
- Mental health and community-based support referrals
- Career and technical education and postsecondary/career readiness opportunities, as applicable

Because instruction is delivered virtually, the school works to ensure that eligible students can access required programs, accommodations, resources, and support regardless of their location or individual circumstances.

Achieve Learning
AchievePoint Virtual Academy – South District is governed by the AchievePoint Florida Board and supported by AchieveLearning as its management company. Graduation Alliance serves as a contracted educational service provider supporting the delivery of virtual instructional services. The school retains responsibility for school leadership, governance, compliance, student records, and overall academic and operational oversight.

Grade-Level Capacity & Enrollment
AchievePoint Virtual Academy has established the following grade-level enrollment capacities:

Enrollment is available by grade level up to the school’s approved enrollment capacity. Once the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available capacity for a grade level, AchievePoint Virtual Academy will follow its established lottery procedures in accordance with applicable charter school requirements.
Families are encouraged to complete the enrollment process as early as possible, as available seats are limited and placement is subject to capacity.

Student Progression Plan
The Student Progression Plan strives to ensure that the required program of study, placement, promotion, reporting, retention and special programs are equitable and comprehensive for all students. It is the responsibility of the School Board and the administration of Osceola County Public Schools to provide students with effective instructional and remedial programs that monitor progress, promote continuous achievement, and make provisions for individual differences.

Parent Right to Know – Out-of-Field Teachers
Parents and guardians have the right to know whether their child’s teacher is teaching outside of their certified field.
AchievePoint Virtual Academy South is committed to providing parents with clear and timely information regarding teacher qualifications and certification. In accordance with Title I requirements and applicable School District of Osceola County requirements, parents will be notified when their child is assigned to a teacher who is teaching out-of-field. The list of current out-of-field teachers will be reviewed by the AchievePoint Virtual Academy South Governing Board at its September 15, 2026 meeting. Following Governing Board approval, the current list will be posted on this page for parents and guardians to review.
Parent Right to Request Information
Parents may also request information about the professional qualifications of their child’s teachers, including applicable certification and qualifications.
